Helluva started as a dream for Aspen while she was studying exercise science at UNC, but the dream of making t-shirts started long before that. As a teen Aspen would make shirts for her soccer team using hand cut paper stencils and sharpies - back when the only sharpies that existed were black. After realizing that exercise science wasn’t her passion, she acquired a job as a screen printer at a local apparel decoration company, SAI Team Sports. It was there where Aspen's love for screen printing flourished. Her skills continued to grow as she became the production manager and learned how to do it all. In need of production assistance, Aspen hired Cristianna who was her girlfriend at the time. Cristianna began working in the heat transfer department and acted as an assistant to Aspen. Once the embroiderer moved on to new horizons, Cristianna took over management of the department, and quickly fell in love with machine embroidery and digitizing. Aspen and Cristianna wed in May of 2016. In January of 2018, the determined couple decided to make dreams a reality and embark on their next journey - Helluva Design.
